Ghrelin je novým hormonem podílejícím se na regulaci příjmu potravy a nutričního stavu organismu. Další jeho funkce jsou dosud neobjasněny. Projekt je zaměřen ne jeho úlohu ve třech základních oblastech. Bude studována úloha ghrelinu v patogeneze obezitya posouzeny možnosti stratifikace obézních pacientů se zřetelem k terapeutickým postupům. Bude studována úloha ghrelinu u manutrice a mentální anorexie opět se zřetelem k možnosti zlepšení terapie. Dále bude studováno působení ghrelinu na sekreci růstového hormonu, u pacientů s deficitem růstového hormonu a akromegalií. Opět bude brán zřetel na návrh možného diagnostického a terapeutického působení ghrelinu. Konečně se projekt bude zabývat změnami hladin ghrelinu v závislosti na stupni poškození ledvins cílem objasnit jeho úlohu v patogenezi reálního psotižení.; Ghrelin is a new peptide hormone serving as a regulator of growth hormone secretion, food intake and nutritionalstatus. Its physiological presence in most tissue suggest the importance of ghrelin in this sites. The project will chracterize the physiological importance in petients with nutritional disordres. The patients with obesity, anorexia nervosa and malnutrition will be studied. The results could improve the therapy of some disorders. We will also study the changes of ghrelin plasma levels in acromegaly and growth hormone deficiency in relationship with other parametrs. The results could contribute to the improvment of diagnostic and therapeutis strategies. Finally, the project is dealing with the role of ghrelin in kidney and in pathogenesis of renal failure. Kidney belongs to the organs containing high amount of ghrelin. Therefore it could play substantial role in pathogenesis of kidney disorders.
