The following case report will introduce a 55-year-old lady with recently diagnosed giant cell aortitis complicated by acute aortic syndrome – aortic dissection type Stanford B.

Tento článek se snaží zkráceně představit zen-buddhismus z pohledu psychoterapie a nalézt odezvy a ekvivalenty zen-buddhistického myšlení především v západních terapeutických systémech. Dále se pokouší popsat psychoterapeutický přístup, nazývaný "zen terapie", najít podobnosti i rozdíly tohoto směru s některými známými "západními" školami a popsat zen-terapii z hlediska obecných procesů změny v psychoterapii. Konstatuje také přímý vliv zen-buddhismu na některé "klasické" západní psychoterapeuty. Článek kriticky hodnotí vytváření nového směru psychoterapie s cílem upozornit spíše na integrativní budoucnost psychoterapie. V integrativním rámci pak pozitivně hodnotí obohacení terapeutického repertoáru studiem psychologie vycházející z buddhistických pojmů. Tyto poznatky mohou mít vliv na indikace a eventuálně kontraindikace těchto a blízkých technik a přístupů.
The article presents a psychotherapeutic view on Zen-buddhism and seeks echoes and equivalents of Zen-buddhistic ways of thinking in traditional western psychotherapeutic systems. It describes "Zen-therapy", a psychotherapeutic approach, and discovers similarities and differences between this therapy and classical schools in the West, and describes general therapeutic processronges in Zen-therapy. A direct influence of Zen-buddhism on many western psychoterapists has been found. However, this article criticizes the formation of a new school of psychotherapy, with respect to further integrative trends in psychotherapy. In this aspect, a psychology, based on buddhist terms, may contribute to the range of therapist's techniques. Moreover, the indications/contraindications of these techniques and approaches are discussed.
