Cílená terapie zcela zásadně změnila onkologii na začátku tohoto milénia - díky ní došlo k velkému pokroku v protinádorové léčbě a vzniku precizní onkologie a tumor agnostické terapie. Nedílnou součástí onkologie se stalo molekulární profilování nádorů se snahou zachytit targetabilní molekulární alteraci, na kterou je možno terapeuticky cílit. Aktuálně jsou schváleny tři zcela tumor agnostické léky a je pravděpodobné, že další budou následovat. Nicméně i přes to, že je tento princip velmi lákavý a slibný, jsme teprve na začátku éry precizní onkologie a svá terapeutická rozhodnutí musíme stále zakládat na správně určeném histologickém typu nádoru. Neboť stejná molekulární alterace u různých typů nádorů může vyžadovat různé terapeutické přístupy.

Molecular profiling of tumors has become an integral part of oncology to capture a targetable molecular alteration that can be targeted therapeutically. Three completely tumor-agnostic drugs are currently being registered and it is likely that more will follow. However, despite the fact that this principle is very attractive and promising, we are only at the beginning of the era of precision oncology, and we still have to make our therapeutic decisions based on a correctly determined histological type of tumor. Because the same molecular alteration in different types of tumors may require different therapeutic approaches.
