Nedávne obdobie pandémie Covid-19 bolo a stále je pre zdravotníkov veľkou skúškou. Mnohí museli vydať zo seba maximum a pritom zažívali vypäté situácie. Bojovali s neznámym, so strachom, ale aj so sebou samým, aby mohli ďalej a znova pokračovať. Už dávno sa hovorí o poddimenzovaní zdravotníctva, o nespravodlivosti, ktorej sú zdravotní pracovníci súčasťou a krivde, ktorá sa na nich valí z každej strany. Je len veľmi málo povolaní, ktoré obetujú pre druhých takmer všetko - čas, zdravie, sviatky. Aj v prípade tohto náročného obdobia sme sa presvedčili, že ako jedno z mála povolaní nemáme Vianoce, Nový rok, Veľkú noc a chýba nám čas na svojich najbližších. Naše možnosti sú v tomto smere v zdravotníctve limitujúce, a keďže je nás aj málo, tak ťažko realizovateľné. Práve toto nedostatočné riešenie katastrofálnej situácie v zdravotníctve sa podpísalo aj na vlastnom rozhodnutí, a to odísť do súkromného sektora. Vybrali sme si kliniku asistovanej reprodukcie. Nechceli sme však odísť ďaleko od smeru, ktorý nás baví, a ktorý si ešte počas štúdia získal naše srdcia. Práca anestéziologickej sestry na tomto pracovisku sa nelíši od práce sestry na pracoviskách jednodňovej starostlivosti. Reprodukčné centrum je funkčne plne vybavené na bežné, ale aj kritické situácie v predoperačnej, perioperačnej a pooperačnej starostlivosti. Naším cieľom je priblížiť možnosti kliniky a oboznámiť kolegov a priateľov aj o sektore, ktorý sa v spoločnosti spomína len okrajovo a v rámci anestéziológie takmer minimálne. Radi by sme rozšírili prehľad aj o zdravotníckych pracovníkoch, ktorí sa anestéziologickej a intenzívnej starostlivosti venujú častokrát mimo dosah nemocnice. Potrebné je mať v tomto prípade dostatok vedomostí a zručností, aby sme vedeli adekvátne zareagovať v prípade vzniknutých komplikácií.

Healthcare professionals faced complex challenges in the past, but in recent years the pressure has almost reached its limits. Many have given their best for long periods without taking a well-deserved break. They fought the unknown, their fears, and their doubts about themselves, and they kept going on and on. It is common knowledge of the staff shortages in the healthcare system, the injustice the healthcare workers are a part of, and the injustice they face from all sides. However, the changes to prevent this are feeble. Very few professions sacrifice almost everything for others - time, health, and holidays. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we confirmed that, as one of the few professions, we do not have the luxury to enjoy Christmas, New Year, Easter, birthdays or time spent with our families. In this regard, our options in the healthcare sector are limiting, and since there are only a few of us, it is not easy to implement these options. For the reasons mentioned above, we decided to leave for the private sector. We chose to work in a fertility clinic as we did not want to go far from the direction we enjoyed. This kind of work won our hearts during our studies. The work of an anaesthetist nurse at the fertility clinic is not too different from that of a day-care nurse. The fully-equipped clinic offers excellent care in standard as well as in critical pre-, peri- and post-operative situations. The goal is to approach our colleagues and friends and to connect them with a fertility sector that is only marginally mentioned in society and almost minimally within anaesthesiology. We also want to bring attention to healthcare workers often out of reach of anaesthesiology and intensive care hospitals. In this case, it is necessary to have enough knowledge and skills to react adequately in case of complications.
