V článku autoři shrnují historii, hlavní principy a současnou roli vyšetření akustických evoko- vaných potenciálů jako objektivní metody v audiometrické diagnostice sluchových poruch. Pozornost je věnována aspektům hodnocení nálezů, zdůrazněna je nezastupitelná role metody v diagnostice vestibulárního schwannomu (neurinomu akustiku).

The authors summarize the history, main principles and contemporary role of examinations of acoustic evoked potentials as an objective method in the audiometric diagnosis of hearing disorders. Attention is devoted to evaluation of findings, the irreplaceable character of the method in the diagnosis of vestibular schwannoma (neurinoma of the acoustic nerve) is stressed.
