V jednotlivých chirurgických oborech jsou široce využívány preparáty, lokálně podporující hemostázu. Jedná se především o preparáty na bázi kolagenu (napr. Actifoam, Avitene), gelatinu (Gelfoam, Spongostan) a oxidované celulózy (Traumacel, Surgicel). Způsob aplikace těchto preparátů je v neurochirurgii velmi specifický a má svoje zákonitosti. Na neurochirurgické klinice FN Brno jsme do roku 1995 používali na mozek především Traumacel, čUi oxidovanou celulózu ve formě prášku. Od roku 1996 používáme na mozek Surgicel, extradurálně Spongostan. Autor shrnuje svoje zkušenosti s použitím Surgicelu u 114 operací mozku. Jsou rozebrána specifika použití Surgicelu u jednotlivých diagnóz a jeho efektivita pri předcházení krvácivých komplikací. V současnosti je použití řjur^celu nedílnou součástí hemostázy u většiny otevřených operací mozku na našem pracovišti.

In different surgical disciplines preparations which promote haemostasis are widely used. The latter comprise in particular preparations on the basis of collagen (e.g. Actifoam, Avitene), gelatin (Gelfoam, Spongostan) and oxidized celluloses (Traumacel, Surgicel). The apphcation of these preparations in neurosurgery is very specific and has its laws. At the Neurosurgical Clinic, Faculty Hospital Brno the authors used since 1995 for brain surgery in particular Traumacel, i.e. oxidized cellulose in powder form. Since 1996 the author uses in brain surgery Surgicel, extradurally Spongostan. The author summarizes his experience with the use of Surgicel in 114 operations of the brain. He analyzes specific features of the use of Surgicel in different diagnoses and its effectiveness in the prevention of haemorrhagic complications. At present the use of Surgicel is an integral part of haemostasis in the majority of open operations of the brain in the author's department.
