V teoretické části se autoři staví kriticky k převažujícím názorům na rozhodující vliv rodiny na vznik kriminality mládeže. Naproti tomu zdůrazňují význam vrstevnické skupiny, sítí vztahů, společných hodnot a dosažené vzdělání. Opírají se o teoretiky J. Fielda, W. Buikhuisena či R. D. Putmana. Vlastní výzkum je zaměřen na sledování specifik delikventní mládeže v těchto oblastech: zájmy, postoje k minoritám, vliv vrstevnické skupiny, trávení volného času, působení školy, výchovné postoje rodičů. Ve vlastním výzkumu, který má charakter terénního šetíení, využívají některých standardních technik ADOR (autori Z. Matějček, P. Říčan). Test hierarchie zájmů. V. Černý, V. Smékal a další, nestándardní techniky, mající formu řízeného rozhovoru. Rozsah zkoumaného souboru činil 120 jedinců. Výsledky výzkumu ale neskýtají dostatečnou podporu teoretickým východiskům autorů, použité postupy jen málo diferencují mezi delikventní a nedelikventní populací. Autoři zvažují v dalším výzkumu metodiku výzkumu i jemnější statistické zpracování.

In the theoretical section the authors take a critical stance toward prevailing opinions of the decisive role of the family in juvenile crime, hi contrast they emphasise the role of the peer group, relationship networks, common values and educational achievements. This stance draws on the theories of J. Field, W. Buikhuisen and R. D. Putman. The actual research monitors the specific features of juvenile delinquent behaviour m the following areas: interests, attitudes to minorities, the influence of the peer group, the use of leisure time, the effect of the school, and parental attitudes to upbringing. The research is of the field investigation type, and uses a number of standard ADOR techniques (developed by Z. Matějček and P. Říčan) and the interest hierarchy test (V. Černý and V. Smékal), alongside non-standard techniques which took the form of conversations. The sample under investigation consisted of 120 individuals. The results of the research however do not offer sufficient support to the theoretical conclusions of the authors mentioned: the methods used only different to a minor extent between the delinquent and non-delinquent population. The authors are considering further research incorporating different methods and a more sensitive approach to statistics.
