Autori opisujú jednotlivé režimy ventilačnej podpory u pacientov v astmatickom stave: a) dýchanie stálym pozitívnym tlakom (CPAP), b) tlakovú podporu ventilácie iPSV), c) objemovú podporu ventilácie (VSV), d) vysokofrekvenčnú tryskovú ventiláciu IHFJV). Píšu o indikáciách, aplikácii, komplikáciách a účinkoch jednotlivých ventilačných režimov, opisujú indikácie a spôsoby hemodynamickej podpory u týchto pacientov. Záverom autori zdôrazňujú význam kvalitnej ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti u pacientov v astmatickom stave.

Authors describe certain modes of ventilatory support in patients with status asthmaticus: a) continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), b) pressure support ventilation (PSV), c) volume support ventilation (VSV), d) high frequency jet ventilation (HFJV). They vmte about the indications, aplication, complications and effects of the single ventilatory modes. They describe also the indications and methods of hemodynamic support in these patients. Finally authors emphasize the importance of good-quality nursing care in patients with status asthmaticus.
