Na souboru žen léčených ústavně nejméně dva měsíce pro závislost na alkoholu či jiné návykové látce byl testován vnitřní model terapie, předpokládající v průběhu léčby nárůst náhledu na nemoc, integrace ega, sebedůvěry, komunikativnosti, ocenění léčby a odeznívání úzkosti a depresivní nálady. Pro sledování průběhu léčby byl vytvořen dotazník o sedmi škálách s dobrou reliabilitou. Faktorová analýza 78 položek dotazníku vedla k šesti komponentám. Statistické analýzy dat získaných čtverou aplikací dotazníku během prvních dvou měsíců léčby 131 pacientek ukázaly s vysokou statistickou významností, že k předpokládaným změnám v průběhu léčby docházelo s tou výjimkou, že ocenění léčby pacientkami se v jejím průběhu v podstatě neměnilo.

An internal model of therapy, supposing increases of insight on illness, ego integration, self-confidence, communicativeness, treatment appreciation as well as decreases of anxiety and depression in the course of treatment was tested on a sample of women treated as psychiatric inpatients for substance dependence for at least two months. A questionnaire was constructed which led to seven scales with satisfactory reliability. A factor analysis of the 78 questionnaire items resulted in six components. Statistical analyses of data collected on 131 women during the first two months of their hospitalization showed with high statistical significance that the hypothesized psychological changes in the treated subjects took place with the exception that the women's evaluations of the treatment did not change with length of hospital stay.
