Prevalence specifických protilátek proti latexu, hodnocená podle nálezů sérologických vyšetření, vypovídá v menší či větší míre o prevalenci latexové alergie. Vyšetřili jsme vzorek populace 522 dětí z Ústeckého regionu ve věku 10-12 let. Specifické IgE protilátky proti latexu byly stanoveny s použitím CAP Pharmacia systému. 48 dětí ; 9,2% bylo senzibilizováno proti latexu (specifické IgE protilátky > 0,35 kU/1). Prevalence protilátek proti potravinové směsi (fx5) ve skupině dětí s pozitivitou na latex byla 56,3 %. Nalezli jsme přibližně stejný výskyt latexové alergie, jaký byl popsán u drážďanských dětí.

The prevalence of latex-specific IgE computed from the results of serologic assayes reflect to a greater or lesser extent the prevalence of latex allergy. A population based sample of 522 children aged from 10-12 years was examined in cross-sectional study in the Ústí Region, Czech republic. Specific IgE levels against latex was determined by using a CAP Pharmacia fluorescence system. Forty eight children (9.2 %) were sensitized againts latex (specific IgE > 0.35 kU/1). The prevalence of the IgE antibody to food mixes (fx5) in the group of latex positive children was 56.3 %. We have found the prevalence of latex allergy appromaxitely to the Dresden (Germany) children.
