Autor sa v príspevku zaoberá mechanizmami, ktoré sa podieľajú na kontrakcii a relaxácii hladkej svaloviny dýchacích ciest. Po zhrnutí anatomických, histologických a funkčných vlastností sa podrobnejšie venuje inervácii dýchacích ciest a jednotlivým receptorovým systémom, ako aj intracelulárnym dôsledkom ich aktivácie na bronchokonstrikciu a bronchodilatáciu. V samostatnej časti sú zhrnuté jednotlivé membrámové kanály a ich podiel na kontrakčných odpovediach hladkej svaloviny dýchacích ciest.

In this review author discussed mechanisms participating in contraction and relaxation of airway smooth muscle. A short review of anatomical, histological and functional characteristics is followed by description of airways innervation. Special characteristics of various receptors and intracellular consequences of their activation or inhibition on bronchoconstriction and bronchodilation are described more in detail. In a separate part of this Eirticle individual membrane channels and their involvement in contractile responses of airway smooth muscle are recapitulated.
