Just4Teens is an innovative drug education video featuring the voices of young people, adults in recovery and prevention specialists. Rejecting the „Just Say No!“ and fear- based messages so often used in schools and prevention programs, Just4Teens focuses on honest, open and respectful discussion with teens about their experiences and the reali- ties of methamphetamine and other drugs. The project that created the video, „Building Positive Communities: A Public Health Approach to Teen Methamphetamine Prevention“ was supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice (Award No. 2006-DD-BX-0340). The opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in the DVD are those of Drug Policy Alliance New Mexico and do not necessarily ref lect the views of the Department of Justice. Dr. Rosenbaum then discusses effective strategies for prevention, including an analysis of the problem of drug use among youth, which approaches have been effective, which have failed, and why, and how we might proceed. Her booklet, „Safety First: A Reality-Based Approach to Teen and Drugs“ which has been translated into a dozen languages, will be available in English and Czech.
