Upon twelve-year practice with methamphetamine users in the area of traditionally dominant use of this drug, we are trying to describe and record some typical variables connected with the use of stimulative drugs. We deal with possible typology of clients using services of contact centres, with their patterns of behaviour and changes over time. As we cannot consider group of methamphetamine users as a compact rank, we observe clinical characteristics of individual groups of users and indicate possible effective interventions. Differences in types of clients using amphetamines require differentiation of services and attitudes and a broad range of knowledge of the intervention teams. Long-term reflection monitoring main variables and patterns defined by target group. Michaela Schaferová has graduated in psychology at Palacký University in Olomouc. Since 2002 she has been working in Sdružení Podané ruce in contact centre in Olomouc, at first as a social worker, later as a manager of the Contact Centre. Currently she works as a manager of Department Walhalla, which joins seven centres (contact centres, low treshold centres for children and youth and outreach work). She deals with individual work with clients – users of addictive drugs and with specific work with mothers – users of addictive drugs. She has passed many courses or trainings in the area of addictive behaviour. In the framework of an international programme she underwent a traineeship in institutions for users of addictive substances in Great Britain.
