Jednou z metod používaných pro diagnostiku sagitálních čelistních vztahuje měření Wits. Jedná se o vzdálenost mezi body konstruovanými spuštěním kolmic z bodů A a B na funkční okluzní rovinu. Modifikované výsledky získáme při použití bisektoru úhlu maxilární a mandibulární roviny místo okluzní roviny. Práce porovnává měření Wits standardním a modifikovaným způsobem. Modifikovaným způsobem získáme zápornější hodnoty Wits v důsledku rozdílného sklonu bisektom a funkční okluzní roviny. Výhodou bisektoru oproti okluzní rovině je lepší reprodukovatelnost. Sagitální čelistní vztahy je potřeba diagnostikovat komplexně.

Wits appraisal is the technique used in diagnosis of sagittal interjaw relationship. It is the distance between the points constructed as perpendiculars running from points A and B to the functional occlu sal plane. When the maxillary-mandibular planes angle bisector is used - instead of the occlusal plane - we obtain modified results. Our work focuses on the comparison of standard and modified wits appraisal. The modified technique brings more negative results due to the different cants of bisector and occlusal plane. However, the advantage of bisector is seen in its better reproducibility. The diagnostics of sagittal interjaw relationships must be complex.
