Článok sumarizuje aktuálny pohľad na diagnostiku, liečbu, prognózu a ovplyvnenie gravidity a pôrodu pri najčastejších ochoreniach gastrointestinálneho traktu.

The spectrum of gastrointestinal diseases occurs with the same pattern in pregnant women as in the non-pregnant population. The incidence rate of serious gastrointestinal tract diseases is not increased during pregnancy; however, disease diagnostics is affected and the selected treatment needs to consider the developing foetus and the particular stage of pregnancy. The article summarizes the current viewpoint on the diagnostics, treatment and prognosis of the most common gastrointestinal disorders occurring in pregnancy and how they affect the pregnancy and delivery course.
