Skleróza multiplex (SM) je ochorenie prejavujúce sa opakujúcimi zápalmi v centrálnom nervovom systéme, ktoré sú spojené s následným degeneratívnym postihnutím nervových buniek. Vzhľadom na to, že ochorenie sa manifestuje prevažne v mladom dospelom veku s prevahou postihnutia žien v období reprodukcie, je dôležité poznať vzájomné vzťahy medzi týmto ochorením a tehotenstvom. Dôležité je najmä poznať vplyv ochorenia a jeho liečby na samotný plod nielen počas tehotenstva, ale tiež aj po jeho ukončení – v laktačnom období. V predloženej práci sú zhrnuté súčasné poznatky týkajúce sa tejto problematiky s poukázaním na ich využitie v klinickej praxi.

Multiple sclerosis is a relapsing inflammatory disease of central nervous system associated with degenerative changes of neuronal cells. Disease occur during the young adult age with prepoderant occurence in women during the reproductive age. With this point view it is very important to know the relationship between this disease and gravidity. The most important is to know the influence of the disease and its therapy na foetus during gravidity but also on the baby in suckling period. In this paper are presented the contemporary knowleges concerning this problem.
