Aim: To inform nursing professionals about the modifications made to the Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions & Classification, 2012 – 2014 (NANDA-I, 2012), and its Czech translation. Theoretical background: The organization that deals with the development of taxonomy at the level of a standardized international system of nursing diagnoses with codes in the world is NANDA International. It organizes conferences and workshops for wide teams of experts, and these meetings and approval processes have, in 2-year cycles since 2001, given rise to the publication of NANDA-I Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions & Classification, which contains approved, reviewed and retired nursing diagnoses as of a certain date. The first official translation of this publication in the Czech Republic was published in 2010. A second official translation shall be published in June 2013. Methods: Analysis, interpretation and comparation of source NANDA-I literature Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions & Classification 2009–2011 (NANDA-I, 2009) a 2012–2014 (NANDA-I, 2012) and their texts translated into Czech. Results: The publication of NANDA-I Nursing Diagnoses Definitions and Classification 2012 – 2014 contains 16 new and 11 reviewed diagnoses together with a few new or updated introductory chapters. All "wellness diagnoses" have been converted to "health-promotion nursing diagnoses". The Czech translation is complemented with brackets containing notes saying it is not an official NANDA-I terminology and the translator’s explanatory notes. Conclusion: The contribution sums up the most important changes which have been implemented in the original publication of Nursing
