U psa plemene bígl, věku 12 let, majitel pozoroval kulhání, občasné kašlání při excitaci a zvýšené pití. Klinickým vyšetřením jsme, mimo jiné, zjistili zvětšené tvrdé levé varle a rentgenologicky jsme diagnostikovali vícečetné nodulární útvary v plicích. V celkové anestezii jsme provedli kastraci. Za měsíc po odstranění stehů byl pacient předveden opět k vyšetření pro apatii a anorexii. Abdomen byl distendovaný a výrazně bolestivý při palpaci. Sonografickým vyšetřením jsme odhalili četné nodulární útvary v dutině břišní. Po zhodnocení celkového zdravotního stavu jsme psa se souhlasem majitele utratili. Následná pitva, provedená na klinickém pracovišti, odhalila nodulární neoplazie v plicích a v mediastinu, ve slezině, mezenteriu, obou ledvinách a ve stěně močového měchýře. Vzorek z varlete zaslaný k vyšetření byl převážně tvořen tumorem z intersticiálních (Leydigových) buněk. Při jednom okraji preparátu byl přítomen karcinom uspořádaný do solidních a papilárních formací. Mitotická aktivita karcinomu byla vysoká. Karcinom infiltroval do tumoru z Leydigových buněk. Metastázy ve vnitřních orgánech měly stejné histologické vlastnosti jako karcinom ve varleti. Imunohistochemicky byla v buňkách karcinomu prokázána pozitivita pancytokeratinu a cytokeratinu 8. V nádorových Leydigových buňkách byl prokázán cytokeratin 7, 20 a protein p16.

In a dog, beagle race, 12 years of age, observed his owner lameness, cough occasionally related to excitation and increased drinking. By clinical examination an enlarged and hard left testicle was , among other, diagnosed and multiple nodular formations in the lung were radiologically detected. We performed castration in general anesthesia. One month after the surgery the owner brought the dog to clinical examination for apathy and anorexia. The abdomen was distended and very painful on palpation. Numerous nodular formations in the abdominal cavity were revealed by means of USG. On the basis of general health state evaluation the dog was sacrificed with consent of the owner. An autopsy performed in the clinic revealed numerous nodular neoplasia in the lung, mediastinum, spleen, mesenterium, both kidneys and in the urinary bladder wall. The sample of the testicle, submitted to histological examination, consisted predominantly of tumour of the interstitial (Leydig) cells. Carcinoma arranged in solid and papillary formations was present at one edge of the histological section. Mitotic activity of the carcinoma was high. The carcinoma infiltrated into the Leydig cell tumour. Metastases in the internal organs were of the same histological properties as carcinoma in the testicle. Pancytokeratin and cytokeratin 8 were immunohistochemicaly detected in the carcinoma cells. Positivity of cytokeratin 7, 20 and protein p16 was proved in neoplastic Leydig cells.
