The external snapping hip syndrome (coxa saltans) is characterized by palpable or audible snap on the lateral region of the hip during movements. The syndrome is relatively rare, surgical treatment follows after potential failure of conservative therapy, published groups of patients are usually small. Author deals with syndrome dividing, genesis, diagnostics, surgical and non- -surgical treatment. The own group of patients is presented and various operative techniques are discussed.
