Cílem příspěvku je seznámit s výsledky studie zaměřené na posttraumatický stres (symptomy PTSD) a posttraumatický růst u profesionálních hasičů. Soubor zahrnoval hasiče z České republiky (N=302) a dalších šesti evropských zemí (N=2241). Sběr dat proběhl formou dotazníkového šetření. Symptomy PTSD byly měřeny škálou Impact of event scale-revised (IESR), posttraumatický růst inventářem Posttraumatic growth inventory-short form (PTGI-SF). Byla porovnána data českých a evropských hasičů s předpokladem, že mezi příslušníky stejné profesní skupiny nebudou nalezeny rozdíly. V některých měřených parametrech však drobné odlišnosti sledovány byly. Zjištěné výsledky jsou diskutovány v souvislosti s jejich generalizovatelností a implikacemi pro praxi.

This paper illustrates results of the study aimed at posttraumatic stress (symptoms of PTSD) and posttraumatic growth in professional fire fighters. Sample consisted of participants from Czech Republic (N=302) and six other European countries (N=2241). Study was carried out through questionnaire-based data gathering. PTSD symptoms were assessed via Impact of event scale – revised (IES-R), posttraumatic growth via Posttraumatic growth inventory - short form PTGI-SF). Comparison of Czech and European firefighters was made with the premise that among members of this professional group there would be found no differences. Subtle dissimilarities were, however, observed in several measured parameters. Findings are discussed with regard to their generalizability and practical implications.
