Cieľom príspevku je zdôrazniť problematiku ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti o pacientov s umelou pľúcnou ventiláciou v domácom prostredí. Na zabezpečení potrieb pacientov s nedostatočným dýchaním, alebo so spontánnou zástavou dýchania sa podieľajú sestry a lekári z oddelenie anestézie a intenzívnej medicíny a sestry z agentúry domácej ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti. Hlavnou prieskumnou metódou bol neštandardizovaný dotazník. Položky dotazníka boli zamerané na organizačné, ošetrovateľské a sociálno-psychologické aspekty poskytovania starostlivosti na domácej umelej pľúcnej ventilácii. Výsledky prieskumu sme analyzovali výpočtom absolútnych a relatívnych hodnôt. Prieskumnú vzorku tvorilo 50 sestier, ktoré sa starali o pacientov na domácej umelej pľúcnej ventilácii v období od roku 2005 do roku 2010. Prieskumom sme zistili, že na starostlivosti o pacienta v domácej umelej pľúcnej ventilácii sa podieľajú sestry z agentúry domácej ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti a sestry z oddelenia anestézie a intenzívnej medicíny, ktoré vykonávajú špecializovanú starostlivosť. Najčastejším ošetrovateľským problémom bola starostlivosť o dýchacie cesty pacienta a starostlivosť vyplyvajúca z imobility pacienta. Ošetrovateľská starostlivosť sa vykonáva systematicky a denne v spolupráci s rodinou pacienta. Profesionálne intervencie poskytujú pohodlie pacientovi a jeho rodine.

The aim of this paper is to highlight the issue of nursing care for patients on mechanical ventilation at home. The needs of patients experiencing insufficient respiration or respiratory arrests are met by nurses, doctors and other medical personnel in a critical care unit and nurses working in a nursing home care agency. The main survey method was a non-standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire items were focused on the organizational, nursing and socio-psychological aspects of providing ceire during mechanical ventilation. The survey results were analyzed by calculating absolute and relative values. The sample consisted of 50 nurses looking after patients on home mechanical ventilation from 2005 to 2010. The survey found that there were nurses from the nursing home care agency and nursing staff from an anesthesia and intensive care unit, providing specialized care, who were involved in the care for patients on home mechanical ventilation. The most common nursing problems were care for the patients' airways and care resulting from patient immobility. Nursing care was doně systematically and daily in cooperation with the patients' families. Professional interventions enhanced the comfort of patients and their families.
