U 7 nemocných byla provedena endovaskulární embolizace velkých AV malformací, které se manifestovaly epilepsií, krvácením a bolestmi hlavy. Primárni chirurgické řešení bylo problematické pro jejich velký rozsah nebo umístění. Zmenšení krevního průtoku, rozměrů AV malformací a obliterace hlubokých zásobujících arterií vytvořily podmínky pro další léčbu chirurgickou nebo radioterapii.
In seven patients endovascular embolization of major AV malformations manifested by epilepsy, haemorrhage and headache was performed. Primary surgery was problematical because of the size or location of the lesions. Reduction of the blood flow, of the size of the AV malformations and obliteration of the deep supplying arteries created conditions for further surgical treatment or radiotherapy.
