Definition
A freshwater water flea in genus Ceriodaphnia, family Daphniidae, suborder Cladocera. It has postabdominal claw with central pecten, absent rostrum and cervical sinus. It is often used as an indicator organism in toxicological bioassays of FRESHWATERS.
