Definition

Parasitic bugs of the family CIMICIDAE. Female bed bugs lay eggs in a sheltered locations such as in mattress seams. Adults and nymphal instars of Cimex feed on warm-blooded hosts. Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus are implicated in human infestations.
