Hypnotikum a sedativum s antikonvulzivními účinky. Kvůli škodlivým vedlejším účinkům, tendenci reagovat s plasty a riziku spojenému s likvidací je nahrazován jinými látkami. Stále se používá k léčbě status epilepticus rezistentního ke konvenční léčbě.

A hypnotic and sedative with anticonvulsant effects. However, because of the hazards associated with its administration, its tendency to react with plastic, and the risks associated with its deterioration, it has largely been superseded by other agents.
