Rodičovství se liší od výchovy dítěte v tom, že při výchově dítěte je kladen důraz na akt školení nebo výchovy dítěte a interakci mezi rodičem a dítětem, zatímco rodičovství klade důraz na odpovědnost a kvality příkladného chování rodiče.
