Príspevok sa zaoberá problematikou imidžu sestier v súčasnosti. Výskum bol zameraný na analýzu vnímania imidžu sestier a komparáciu názorov sestier podľa typu pracoviska, veku, dĺžky praxe a dosiahnutého vzdelania. Zvolili sme kvantitatívnu metódu, vlastne vytvorený dotazník. Výskumnú vzorku tvorilo 104 sestier. Štatistickú analýzu údajov sme realizovali prostredníctvom T testu. Zistili sme, že sestry pracujúce na ambulanciách vnímajú imidž svojho povolania významne viac pozitívne ako sestry pracujúce v zdravotníckych zariadeniach a zariadeniach sociálnych služieb, sestry s ukončeným vysokoškolským vzdelaním vnímajú imidž svojho povolania významne viac pozitívne ako sestry bez vysokoškolského vzdelania a sestry mladších vekových skupín vo veku do 40 rokov vnímajú imidž svojho povolania významne viac pozitívne ako sestry starších vekových skupín nad 40 rokov.

Article deals with the issue of the image of nurses in the present. The research was focused on the analysis of the perception of the image of the nurses and the comparison of the opinions of nurses according to type of workplace, age, length of practice and achieved education. We chose a quantitative method, a questionnaire actually created. The research sample consisted of 104 nurses. Statistical analysis of the data was done through the T-test. We found out that nurses working in out-patient clinics perceive the image of their profession significantly more positive than nurses working in health care facilities and social services facilities. Higher education nurses perceive the image of their profession significantly more positively than nurses without higher education and nurses of younger age groups (under 40) perceive the image of their profession significantly more positively than nurses of older age groups over 40 years of age.
