Tato studie se zabývá závěry vyšetření pěti pacientů s retencí nebo poruchou prořezávání horních špičáků pomocí spirální výpočetní tomografie (CT). Před CT vyšetřením byly u všech pacientů zhotoveny ortopantomogramy a u jednoho pacienta také intraorální rentqenogramy. Ve všech případech bylo vyšetření pomocí CT výtěžnější; umožnilo přesné stanovení polohy anomálně postavených zubů a ve čtyřech případech zobrazilo resorpci sousedního zubu, která nebyla pomocí konvenčních radiografických metod zjištěna.

This study presents results of examination of five patients with impaction or ectopic eruption of maxillary canines using spiral computed tomography (CT). Before the examination, all patients had orthopantomographs taken; one of them had also periapical films. In all these cases, CT produced results of much higher quality: it enabled precise localisation of the displaced teeth and in four cases showed the presence of adjacent teeth root resorption that was undetected by conventional radiology methods.
