Paragangliomy jsou vzácné tumory vycházející ze sympatických a parasympatických paraganglií. Chemodektom karotického sinu a glomus jugulare tumor tvoří 90 % těchto neuroektodermálních nádorů. Autoři prezentují vzácný případ 301etého muže s migrujícím nefunkčním paragangliomem filum terminále v etáži L2-L3. Paragangliom byl radikálně odstraněn z laminotomie. Po operaci došlo ke kompletní remisi obtíží. Na kontrolním MRI 6 měsíců po operaci nejsou známky residua ani recidívy nádoru. Klinická symptomatologie, radiologické, histologické a imunohistochemické charakteristiky paragangliomů této oblasti jsou popsány v diskusi. Terapeutickou metodou volby s excelentními výsledky je radikální chirurgická resekce.

Paragangliomas are rare neuroectodermal tumors arising from both sympathetic and parasympathetic Paraganglias Chemodectoma of the carotic sinus and the glomus jugulare tumor represent ninety per cent of these tumors. The authors present a case of a 30 years old man with a nonfunctional paraganglioma of the filum terminále at the L2-L3 level. The tumor was radically removed from the laminotomy and a complete remission of the preoperative symptoms was noted. No signs of recurrence or residual tumor were found at the control MRI six months later. Clinical symptomatology, radiological, histological and imunohistochemical features of paragangliomas in this location are discussed. The radical resection is the therapeutic method of choice that shows excellent results.
