Autor uvádí kazuistiky dvou pacientek s chronickou hepatitidou C.V článku se poukazuje na složitou a dlouhodobou léčbu tohoto onemocnění. Taje zatížena častými vedlejšími nežádoucími účinky. Důraz se klade na zdravotně sociální problematiku. Onemocnění a jeho léčba si často vyžádá dlouhodobou pracovní neschopnost a někdy vede i k invalidizaci pacienta. Léčba je vedena specialistou - hepatologem, ale praktický lékař tu má nezastupitelnou roli při koordinaci péče s jinými specialisty a při řešení zdravotně sociálních důsledků onemocnění.

The author presents the čase reports of two patients suffering from chronic viral hepatitis C. The article describes the complex and long-term treatment of this disease, which is associated with frequent adverse effects. Attention is paid to health and sociál aspects. The disease and its treatment very often necessitate sickness leave or even disability in some cases. The treatment is lead by a specialist (hepatologist), however, the generál practitioner plays an irreplaceable role in coordinating the treatment with other specialists and in solving the sociál consequences of the disease.
