The aim of the study was examination of fitness in patients after amputation of the leg and in patients with ischemic heart disease. Methods: Eleven patients after amputation of the legs was compared with eleven patients with chronic ischemic heart disease. Both groups were examined in our study using arm crank ergometry. Physical work and hemodynamic parameters were examined in our patients. Results: Symptom-limited work load, heart rate and rate pressure product were significantly lower both in the group of patients after amputation of the leg and in the group of patients with chronic ischemic heart disease than in healthy population.
