Systém vyhledávání a péče o pohybově nadanou mládež v atletice

The article's aim is to show theoretical concept of building and optimizing the system of care of talented youth in track and field. The article prezents a summary of current activities in track and field elementary and high school sport classes as well as youth sport centres. The evaluation of ESC, HSC and YSC activities and opponent reports showed problems, that appear to be relevant for increasing the quality of training of the talented track and field youth: Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS)'s legislation, valorization and adjustments of financing, insufficient capacity of professional training centres, health care, the approach of the Czech Athletic Federation (CAF) itself. Inevitable trends of CAF activities: New criteria for evaluation of youth coaches, the education of youth coaches, optimization of system of youth competitions, new forms of methodical materials, changes in financing, continous negotiation with MEYS regarding legislation.
