The fall of elderly people is an important public health problem. Fall has physical, but also psychological consequences. For years, many researches were carried out in this fi eld by Scientists of all around the world. Some prototypes provided reliable results but most of them are not yet wearable devices and, further more, not scalable. An embedded fall sensor was developed by TIMC-IMAG laboratory. It is now at the stage of industrialisation. In this paper we will focus on the evaluation of this fall sensor with 14 healthy volunteers on our experimental “fall” platform. We also will describe our original method to determine the reliability of a fall sensor.
