V přehledovém článku jsou probrány údaje ze světové literatury o poruchách sluchu u diabetu. Po stručné informaci o struktuře a funkci ucha jsou prezentovány zprávy o změnách sluchu u experimentálního diabetu a výsledky vyšetření sluchu u diabetiků se zaměřením na patologii kochley. Jsou uvedeny doklady o prevalenci poruch sluchu u diabetiků a o existenci diabetické kochleopatie. V závěru jsou uvedeny informace s doporučením komplexní péče o diabetické pacienty s poruchami sluchu.
In a review of world literature informations on hearing impairments in diabetic patients are presented. Structure and function of the human ear and alterations of the structure and function in experimental diabetes and in diabetic patients with emphasis on the pathology of cochlea are included. The prevalence of hearing impairment in diabetes confirms the existence of diabetic cochleopathy.In conclusion the care and communication with patients with auditory disorders are recommended.
