Používání výpočetní techniky a internetu ovlivňuje život moderních lidí v mnoha směrech. Týká se to i zneužívání návykových látek. Nicméně rostoucí dostupnost internetu je realitou, kterou je třeba vzít na vědomí. Internet také poskytuje určité možnosti v prevenci a časné intervenci. Přesto se zdá, že v současné době při používání internetu převažují rizikové faktory (15). Cílem rodičů (14), pedagogů i zdravotníků je proto minimalizovat rizika internetu a naopak maximálně využít jeho výhod.

Using computers and the Internet affects the lives of modern humans in many ways. This also applies to substance abuse.However, the increasing availability of the Internet is a reality that must be taken into account. The Internet also provides someoptions for prevention and early intervention. Yet it seems thatcurrently the use of the Internet outweigh the risk factors. The aim of parents, educators and health professionals should therefore minimize the risk of the Internet and vice versa maximize its benefits.
