Caroliho choroba je zriedkavé dedičné ochorenie charakterizované intra- a extrahepatálnou dilatáciou žlčových ciest. Ochorenie je spojené s tvorbou kameňov v žlčových cestách. Autori vo svojej práci predkladajú súbor 5 pacientov s týmto ochorením. Retrospektívne spracovali údaje o pacientoch s Caroliho chorobou, ktorí boli liečení na Klinike transplantačnej a cievnej chirurgie UNM a JLF UK Martin v období od roku 2005 do roku 2010, a prezentujú svoje skúsenosti s chirurgickou liečbou tohto ochorenia. Na základe vlastných skúseností autori odporúčajú resekčnú chirurgickú liečbu ako potenciálne kuratívny spôsob liečby pacientov s Caroliho chorobou.

Caroli disease is a rare inherited disease characterized by intra and extrahepatic biliary dilatation. The disease is associated with the formation of stones in the biliary tract. The authors in their work present their own group of 5 patients with this disease. They retrospectively processed the data on patients with Caroli disease who were treated at the Department of Transplant and Vascular Surgery UNM and JLF UK Martin, in the period from 2005 to 2010 and present their experience with surgical treatment of this disease. According to their own experience, the authors recommend resection surgical treatment as potentially curative method of treating patients with Caroli disease.

Surgical treatment of patients with caroli disease
