Fyziologická gravidita je sprevádzaná zmenami v lokálnej a systémovej koagulácii a vo fibrinolýze. Hemostáza zasahuje do procesu implantácie blastocysty a placentácie. Udržiava optimálne prekrvenie placenty, zabezpečuje rýchle a adekvátne zrážanie počas pôrodu. Poruchy hemostázy sa podieľajú na peripartálnom krvácaní, gestačnom trombembolizme a považujú sa za rizikový faktor neúspešnej reprodukcie a tehotenských komplikácií. Prevencia a liečba krvácania/trombózy je nevyhnutnou súčasťou manažmentu pôrodníckej starostlivosti.

Physiological pregnancy is accompanied by changes in local and systemic coagulation and fibrinolysis. Haemostasis interferes with the implantation of the blastocyst and placentation. It maintains optimal blood flow in the placenta, ensures prompt and adequate clotting during the labour. Disorders of haemostasis are involved in peripartum haemorrhage, gestational thromboembolism and they are considered a risk factor for unsuccessful reproduction and pregnancy complications. Prevention and treatment of bleeding/thrombosis is an essential part of the management of obstetric care.
