Krvácanie z tráviaceho traktu predstavuje neodkladnú situáciu pre všetky vekové kategórie detí. Etiológia sa líši v jednotlivých vekových obdobiach. Krvácanie do tráviaceho traktu u detí a dospelých má určité podobnosti i odlišnosti. Kým Meckelov divertikul je bežný v detskom veku, v dospelosti sú to najmä neoplastické ochorenia. Stanovenie správnej diagnózy u detí s krvácaním do tráviaceho traktu je nevyhnutné pre správny terapeutický postup.

Gastrointestinal bleeding represents emergency situation in all categories of age in children. The etiology varies according to the age. There are some differences and similarities when compared to adults. The Meckel diverticulum is the most common in childhood, while neoplasias are seen more frequently among adults. Correct etiologic diagnosis of the bleeding in children is very important for adequate therapeutic approach.
