Aim: To find out the possibilities of using specific instrument for quality of life assessment of patients with bronchial asthma by analysis of the literary sources, namely the shortened version of the Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire in relation to the control of asthma in clinical trials and clinical practice (Mini Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire, MiniAQLQ). Methods: Literature search of articles in electronic databases. The keyword search was limited to entries published since 1999 and using MiniAQLQ. The literary results are presented in a tabular form for possible comparison of the individual studies. Results: From a total of 360 articles, 7 quantitative studies using both MiniAQLQ and Asthma Control Test (ACT) were included in the final list. Conclusions: The MiniAQLQ tool is widely used for longitudinal tracking of the quality of life and asthma control relationship, monitoring of changes in the quality of life in long-term treatment of asthma, in the cost of treatment assessment, in population studies, in the evaluation of the effectiveness of asthma patient education or for the assessment of other specific instruments.
