Cílem této práce je zhodnocení změn posledních let v přístupu léčby benigní hyperplazie prostaty (BHP) a symptomů dolních močových cest (LUTS). Hlavní změnou je rostoucí počet pacientů na farmakoterapii a pokles počtů chirurgických výkonů pro tuto diagnózu. Alfalytika jsou účinná, s rychlým nástupem účinku a jsou velmi oblíbená mezi urology a pacienty. Inhibitory 5alfa reduktázy jsou druhou hlavní skupinou léků. Velmi často jsou používána v kombinaci. Hodnotili jsme počty pacientů léčených medikamentózně (n = 4 507), pacienty po transuretrální resekci prostaty (TURP n = 451) a pacienty po transvezikální prostatektomii (TVPE n = 134) za 6 let (2010–2015). Srovnávali jsme počty a výsledky těchto kohort. Zjistili jsme významný nárůst farmakoterapie, pokles chirurgické terapie BHP/LUTS a mírný vzestup počtu TVPE ve srovnání s obdobím 2003–2007.

The aim of study is evaluation of trends and changes in management of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)/Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) in recent years. The main change is increasing number of patients on pharmacotherapy and declining surgeries for this. The alfa1-lytics are very effective with rapid onset of effect and or very popular among urologist and patients. The 5alfa inhibitors are the second main drugs. There are use very commonly in combination. We evaluated patients treated by pharmacotherapy (n = 4 507) and patients after transurethral resections of prostate (TURP n = 451) and transvesical prostatectomy (TVPE n = 134) for 6 years (2010–2015). We compared numbers and results these cohorts. We found growth of pharmacotherapy is signifiant, drop in surgical treatment of BPH/LUTS, slight increase the number of TVPE compared for the period 2003–2007.
