Česká společnost vojenských lékařů a farmaceutů byla v rámci ČLS JEP založena v roce 1999. V článku jsou popsány historické okolnosti a podmínky, které ke vzniku této odborné společnosti vedly a stručně je zmíněn její rozvoj a přehled činnosti až do současnosti. Společnost, která v průběhu času rozšířila svou působnost i na vojenské veterinární lékaře, si vybudovala pevné místo a prestiž a úspěšně reprezentuje obor vojenské medicíny u nás i v zahraničí.

The Czech Society of Military Physicians and Pharmacists was established in 1999, within the framework of the J.E. Purkinje Czech Medical Association. This article describes the historical circumstances and conditions that enabled the foundation of this professional society. Additionally, a brief overview of the society´s development and activities, both past and present, is also provided. Since it was established, the organization hes expanded to also include military veterinarians. Today, the society enjoys a welldeserved reputation imbued with great respect and prestige and successfully represents the field of military medicine both at home and abroad.
