V lednu 2018 se v Nemocnici Milosrdných sester sv. K. Boromejského v Praze 1 konal První společný workshop mladých geriatrů a Mladých praktiků. Akce se zúčastnilo 100 lékařů z celé ČR. Témata přednášek byla vybrána společně oběma skupinami mladých lékařů a reprezentovala problémy, s nimiž se zvláště začínající lékaři potýkají v péči o seniory a v nichž si mohou geriatři s praktickými lékaři vzájemně účinně pomoci. Hlavními tématy byly: insomnie, závislosti u seniorů, posuzování stupně k závislosti pro účely příspěvku na péči, problematika domácího hospice a posuzování zdravotní způsobilosti k řízení motorového vozidla. Setkání proběhlo v přátelské atmosféře a Mladí praktici se s mladými geriatry shodli, že vzájemnou spolupráci považují do budoucna za klíčovou.

Praha, leden 2018. In January 2018, the first Young Geriatrists and Young General Practitioners Workshop was held in the St. Charles Borromeo Hospital in Prague 1 with 100 participants from all over the Czech Republic. The topics of the lectures were chosen by both groups of young physicians with focus on problems encountered during the care of the elderly, where the geriatrists and general practitioners can effectively help each other. The main topics included: insomnia, dependence issues of older persons, evaluating the level of dependence for the purpose of care allowance, home hospice, assessment of medical fitness for driving. The atmosphere of the workshop was very friendly and the young geriatrists and young general practitioners agreed on the importance of their future cooperation to improve the quality care of older persons.
