Aneurysma ascendentní aorty mívá asymptomatický průběh a manifestuje se různými, často až fatálními komplikacemi. Vlivem dostupnějších zobrazovacích metod je nález gigantického aneurysmatu v dnešní době raritní. Prezentujeme případ pacienta, u kterého akutní infarkt myokardu odhalil přítomnost gigantického aneurysmatu ascendentní aorty.

Ascendant aortic aneurysm has an asymptomatic clinical course and manifests itself with various, often fatal, complications. Due to more accessible imaging methods, the fi nding of gigantic aneurysm is rare nowadays. We present a case of a patient in whom an acute myocardial infarction revealed the presence of a giant aneurysm of the ascending aorta.
