V období protiepidemických opatření při pandemii covid-19 se výrazně posunula hranice ambulantní a distanční péče včetně péče o děti s nově zjištěným diabetes mellitus 1. typu. Na souboru tří komentovaných kazuistik jsou patrné limity a úskalí v péči mimo standardní úvodní hospitalizaci při současném omezení frekventního ambulantního kontaktu.

The anti-epidemic measures adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic have significantly moved the boundaries of outpatient and distance care of all patients, including children with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes mellitus. A set of three annotated case reports demonstrates the limitations and pitfalls of medical care provided in such circumstances as opposed to the hospitalization upon diagnosis and frequent outpatient contact during times without epi- demiological restrictions.
