Letermovir, antivirotikum s účinkem na cytomegalovirus (CMV), představuje v současné době klíčový lék v potranspiantačním průběhu u pacientů po alogenní transplantaci krvetvorby. Zcela jednoznačná je jeho role v poklesu nerelapsové mortality a poklesu incidence reaktivace/infekce CMV u pacientů s vyšším rizikem reaktivace/infekce CMV. V současné době se zkoumá jeho další zařazení do portfolia v roli sekundární profylaxe či preemptivní léčby.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) antiviral drug letermovir is today a key drug in posttransplant setting in patients undergoing allogeneic transplant of blood stem cells. Its definite role is clear in decrease of nonrelapse mortality and in decrease of of incidence of CMV reactivation/infection in patients with high-risk of CMV reactivation/infection. The further position in portfolio of secondary prophylaxis and preemptive treatment is now explored.
