Na základě analýzy příčin úrazů a průběhu léčby u 55 pacientů - mužů ortopedické kliniky FNKV, kteří byli v době od října 1996 do dubna 1997 hospitalizováni pro domácí úraz, způsobený pádem, jsou diskutovány možnosti omezení počtu a závažnosti těchto úrazů. Rozbor ukazuje na existenci vzájemných vazeb mezi vnějšími a vnitřními příčinami, tj. mezi mechanikou úrazového děje a stavem a situací postiženého. Based on an analysis of causes of injuries and treatment of 55 male patients of the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Faculty Hospital hospitalized between Octber 1996 and April 1997 on account of injuries suffered in their homes, caused by a fall, the authors discuss possibilities how to reduce the number and severity of these injuries. The analysis indicates the existence of mutual links between external and internal causes, i.e. between the mechanics of the injury and the condition and state of the patient. The authors emphasize the role of comprehensive prevention of accidents incl. in addition to modification of the patient s flat and surroundings also attention to predisposing diseases and education of the patient and his family on problems of lifestyle and behaviour.
