Receptor rodiny Eph, který se nachází především v diferencovaných nervových tkáních. Následkem vícenásobného alternativního sestřihu RNA se vyskytuje několik izoforem receptoru EphA5. Během vývoje a v průběhu dospělosti je tento protein výrazně exprimován v neuronech limbického systému, což naznačuje jeho roli v plasticitě a funkci limbické struktury.

An eph family receptor found primarily in differentiated neuronal tissues. Several isoforms of EphA5 receptor occur due to multiple alternative RNA splicing. The protein is prominently expressed in the NEURONS of the LIMBIC SYSTEM during development and throughout adult life, suggesting its role in the plasticity of limbic structure and function.
