Bulimie může být odhalena díky přítomnosti různě závažných erozí zubů. Pokud jsou nezávažné eroze tvrdých zubních tkání včasně diagnostikovány, je možné pouze jejich sledování a symptomatické udržování. Závažnější erozivní defekty, které vyvolávají funkční a estetický diskomfort pacienta, je nutné řešit obnovením tvaru klinických korunek. Včasná indikace restaurativní léčby předejde náročnějším invazivním zákrokům u velkých destrukcí klinických korunek. Musí však být nejprve odstraněna příčina erozivního poškození, proto je u bulimie nutná kauzální psychiatrická léčba. Rekonstrukce chrupu postiženého enormní erozí či abrazí patří k nejnáročnějším řešením záchovné stomatologie a stomatologické protetiky, a to jak pro ošetřujícího lékaře, tak i pro pacienta. Spolupráce pacienta je podmínkou úspěchu léčby i životnosti ošetření.
Bulimia can be diagnosed due to present of differently serious tooth erosion. When the mild tooth erosion is early intercepted, there is the possibility only to observe the erosion and use the symptomatic therapy. Serious erosive defects, which cause the functional and aesthetic problems, are necessary to cure by a shape restoration of clinical crowns. Early indication of restorative therapy is prevention of more difficult invasive intervention for great destruction of clinical crowns. At first, the cause of erosive tooth damage must be solved, therefore causal psychiatric treatment in bulimia is necessary. The reconstruction of teeth destroyed by enormous erosion or abrasion ranks to the most difficult solution in conservative dentistry and prosthodontics; it is difficult for doctor and patient as well. Motived patient is the condition of successful therapy and lifetime of restoration.
