The aim of this paper is to introduce the digitalization process and its effects on better reach of the target population. Progress in the digitalization and e-health tools worldwide enables new opportunities in prevention, diagnostics and treatment for people living with HIV (PLHIV) and people in the risk of HIV infection, hepatitis C (HCV) and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The system already used for voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) at the CheckPoint Centre Zagreb run by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Croatian Association for HIV and Viral Hepatitis (CAHIV) was upgraded and adapted (due to the COVID-19 prevention epidemiological measures) and developed for implementation of the pilot project of feasibility and acceptability of home HIV self-testing (HIVST) among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Zagreb. A special feature of the HIVST mobile application enables an innovative approach in collecting clients' test result feedback. This paper presents the method of use digitalization of the VCT and HIVST activities to support and increase availability of screening testing. Described procedures of new technologies application in VCT services and preliminary results of the HIVST pilot project indicate that technology-delivered interventions can contribute and improve access and utilisation of HIV/STI prevention and care services.

BACKGROUND: There is a high frequency of monkeypox (MPOX) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in men who have sex with men (MSM). AIM: To identify the sexual behavior of MSM during the MPOX infection period. METHODS: We conducted an observational study of cases and controls were carried out. RESULTS: A total of 171 participants were considered, two heterosexual male controls (MSW) were included for each case of MSM with a consecutive selection of people who attended the STI prevention and control center from January to July 2022. The results revealed that the mean number of sexual partners reported in the last year was higher in cases (4.2) compared to controls 1.9 (p < 0.05). The related conditions for MSM to acquire some type of STI were sexual intercourse under the influence of alcohol (OR 2.42; 95% CI: 1.11-3.96), forgetting to use a protection method (condom) (OR 3.16; 95%: 1.73-7.48) and sexual intercourse with casual couples (OR 1.4; 95% CI: 1.01-2.16). CONCLUSION: Our findings demonstrated a link between the sexual behavior of men who have sex with men and the high prevalence of sexually transmitted infections during the human monkeypox virus outbreak.

The study deals specifies of risky sexual behavior in adolescents. Despite the seriousness of this problem of risky sexual behavior, we perceive that it is not currently receiving adequate attention, for this reason, we present in the paper research focused on specifies of risky sexual behavior of adolescents and its prevention.

BACKGROUND: Condom provision is one of the most effective harm reduction interventions to control sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis in prisons. Yet, very few countries around the world provide prisoners with condoms. The present study aimed to elucidate principles of effective prison-based condom programs from the perspective of European public health and prison health experts. METHODS: As a part of the "Joint Action on HIV and Co-infection Prevention and Harm Reduction (HA-REACT)" twenty-one experts from the field of prison health from eight European countries were invited to discuss the principles of condom provision programs in prisons within two focus groups. The audio records were transcribed verbatim, coded, categorized, and analyzed using thematic analysis method. RESULTS: Six components emerged from the analysis as essential for successful condom programs in prisons: (1) highlighting the necessity of condom provision in prisons, (2) engagement of internal and external beneficiaries in all stages of designing and implementing the program, (3) conducting a pilot phase, (4) condom program in a comprehensive package of harm reduction interventions, (5) vending machine as the best method of condom distribution in prisons and (6) assuring the sustainability and quality of the intervention. CONCLUSION: Results of the present study can help prison health policy makers to design and conduct acceptable, accessible and high-quality prison-based condom provision programs, and consequently to mitigate the burden of STIs in prisons. Having access to high-quality healthcare services including condom provision programs is not only the right of prisoners to health, but also is a move towards achieving the sustainable development goal 3 of "leaving no one behind."
