Autori v práci opisujú svoje skúsenosti s diagnostikou a liečbou 5 prípadov traumatickej ruptúry močovej rúry. Klinické príznaky zatvoreného poranenia uretry sú často nevýrazné. U 70 % pacientov zvyčajne chýba krvácanie z vonkajšieho ústia uretry. Pri podozrení na toto poranenie autori nedoporučujú uretrálnu katetrizáciu, lebo táto môže zväčšiť rozsah poranenia. Na diagnostiku doporučujú uretrografiu, ktorá poskytne dostatočné informácie o rozsahu poranenia uretry. Pri použití ťahu balónkového katétra na priblíženie pahýľov uretry, dôjde síce k zhojeniu a k vytvoreniu fibrózneho kanála medzi pretrhnutými časťami uretry, ale táto fibrózne zmenená časť má tendenciu k tvorbe striktúr, ktoré sú rezistentné na dilatácie.

Authors presented their experience in diagnosis and treatment of 5 cases of traumatic rupture of urethra. Clinical symptoms of the closed type of the urethra are frequently not clear. In 70 % of patients, outer urethral orifice bleeding is usually omitted. When this injury could be suspected, urethral catheterization is not recommended because it might extend level of damage. Urethrography is recommended as it would offer sufficient information onthe injury. Pulling the balloon catheter to approach proximal and distal part of the injured urethra willl result in creating fibrous channel between the rupted parts of urethra however, this fibrotic part tends to develop dflatation resistant stricture.
